Miami

Miami is electric - with neon blue waters, Dubai-esque architecture dotting boulevards filled with foreign cars, Vegas-level nightlife, and some beautiful beaches, the 6th borough is one hell of an escape from dreary New York winters. Whether you’re going to decompress on a white sand beach, or run with global creative elite at one of the endless contemporary art festivals the city is now synonymous with, one thing is certain - you’re going to be having some of the best food in the United States. Like Vegas, there are transplants a many from New York and elsewhere, but Carbone can stay in Manhattan - from Miami’s iconic Little Havana which is arguably one of the most food-rich neighborhoods in the country, to the design district and on, there are endless amazing institutions local to the city.

Versailles - Must go Calle Ocho institution with an incredible counter for Cuban coffee, ham and cheese croquetas, empanadas, and guava pastelitos while you wait to sit in their gilded dining room. Go for the criollo special if its your first time and don’t miss the ropa vieja

Sanguich de Miami - Every city has their sandwich, and in Miami it’s undoubtedly the Cubano - go here for one of the best. Or share the croqueta sandwich with a friend. Or just eat both - they’re literally insane.

Mandolin - Miami’s response to Rodeo Drive is the contemporary Design District, rife with cutting edge sculptures that dot pedestrian paseos between flagships stores from designer brands. Yet, a slice of Mykonos exists with Mandolin - featuring incredible takes on Greek food in a romantic outdoor setting.
