People love to say that wine and cheese is the holiest combination known to man. I would like up that by saying that wine, cheese, and a VIEW is the magnum opus of the human experience - but hey that’s just my two cents. Sitting with friends and indulging your senses visually, socially, musically, and with the fusion of wine and cheese is nothing short of a religiously-fulfilling situation. One of the best locales to enjoy said wine, cheese, and music happens to reside in Dumbo. Sure you can chill with the influencers in Brooklyn Bridge Park or at Dumbo House, but the real vibes are off the beaten path - by just a few feet actually.
Get yourself to Plymouth and Main with the appropriate necessities and you’re at a fork in the road. One path seems like the right way, pointing towards Jane’s carousel and the entrance of Dumbo House/Cecconi’s - you’re going to want to actually avoid going down that direction as it tends to be overrun with tourists voguing for grams and is simply not the best view. Enter the quiet wooded entrance of the park as it curves around the playground, proceed down that path, and you’ll find yourself eventually at a section of long stone steps that go down to a beach along the river. Feel free to set up shop here along with the skaters smoking and Brooklyn couples on dates, because this is the best seat in the house - it is actually perfectly built and angled towards sunsets. Prepare for hours with friends chatting, drinking, and enjoying life as you soak in view the of monument to human achievement that is Lower Manhattan.
